Latest alerts and rebooking policies
Last updated on Tuesday 6 January 2026, 20:30 (Amsterdam time).
Severe winter weather, including snow and strong winds, has had a significant impact on both flight and ground operations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol over the past few days. Current forecasts indicate that these challenging conditions will persist over the coming days, potentially affecting some passengers with multiple cancellations. We understand this situation is stressful for everyone traveling. We want to reassure you that we are actively working around the clock to get you to your destination as soon as possible, even if you don’t hear from us right away.
Don’t come to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol if your flight has been cancelled.
Rebooking options
Due to weather-related operational constraints, limited capacity across airlines, and crew scheduling adjustments, rebooking is taking longer than usual. Our teams are working to find the best options available for you, but availability is currently limited, as flights are also full at other airlines. Availability changes frequently, so that seats may become available again at a later stage. If you find suitable alternative travel options yourself, this may help you reach your destination sooner.
What we are doing for you
What you can do now if you haven’t heard from us yet
Option 1: Let us rebook you (recommended)
You do not need to take any action at this time. We will notify you as soon as we confirm a new flight.
Option 2: Arrange your own transportation and hotel
If you need a hotel because your flight is the next day, the quickest option is to book one yourself and request reimbursement through our website.
Reimbursement guidelines
- Meals: up to €25 per person, per meal
- Transport to/from the airport: up to €50 per transfer
- Hotel: reasonable nightly rate (we recommend Booking.com to find suitable accommodation)
Customer service availability
Due to the high number of affected passengers, our phone lines and social media channels are extremely busy. For the fastest updates, we recommend checking My Trip regularly.
